There’s two attributes that a person can have that will immediately give me a good impression of them:
1.) Has good storytelling ability (good stories a bonus)
2.) Doesn’t take themself too seriously.
Billy Liar, despite the usually serious tone of his music, possesses both of these attributes. And, keeping in line with the subject material of his music, he often finds himself in strange and often ridiculous situations. Then tells me about them. One time, I responded in time with a crudely drawn ‘comic book’ [seriously folks, it’s four pages] illustrating the story he told me. The response: 100 copies he distributed at his next show.
NOW IT’S HERE IN ALL ITS GLORY
